Guitar Lessons For Serious Musicians (Motherwell)

Andy Mclaughlan Guitar Tutor (Wishaw)

http://www.andymclaughlan.com

Are you serious about learning guitar? If so take a minute to consider studying with me.

Whilst a high number of guitar teachers take shortcuts yet still demand you pay them full, I pride myself on a value for money approach. I understand the rewards gained from consistent focused practicing and want this same sense of self satisfaction for my students.

I don't take the ' go home and play this until our next lesson' approach that others take. I understand the difference between playing and practicing, and herein lies the key to your progression as a player. So if studying with a teacher who pushes you to practice and grow as a musician is for you read on.....

Rather than have a set approach for every student, I build an approach based on what your goals as a player are. For instance, reading music is not for everyone, so this may not be an aspect we want to cover. This is just an example and this could be applicable to any aspect of your playing. However if I feel a certain aspect would be beneficial for your growth as a player, I will discuss these benefits with you before making any descisions.

Our first lesson will be completely free and will be more of a chat to work on where you are as a player. What your goals are, and how by working together we can help you achieve these goals.

I cover all styles of playing from blues to jazz to metal and can also teach music theory to an advanced level and as such I am available to teach solely music theory to non-guitar playing students. And have myself done a lot of work in the area of hard rock/metal and instrumental guitar playing. I have a song currently doing the rounds on a compilation CD called Sonic Bridges which is currently circulating on 10,000 CDs. You can hear my track, Celestial, and check out some of the other cool players on there at www.myspace.com/sonicbridgesmcmp . Also check out my music/add me on myspace at www.myspace.com/andymcguitar and, my website at www.andymclaughlan.com

Also, check out my practicing article at http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/columns/general_music/to_practice_or_not_to_practice.html

I also have studied via correspondence with world-class virtuoso guitarist Tom Hess who you can check out on www.youtube.com or at www.tomhess.net and I currently gig and record with Glasgow band Lost Persona ( www.myspace.com/LostPersona )

I teach from beginner-advanced and charge £15 per hour or £120 for a block booking of 10 lessons or I can visit your home for lessons for £15 hour and £120 for a block booking of 10 lessons.

Contact me by email at andy@andymclaughlan.com roughly describing your goals and aspirations as a player, musical style preference etc. And please check out my other articles on my website at www.andymclaughlan.com Or phone me anytime at 07903743617
